Answer:

Can jinns possess

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Statements: BUT IT MAY BE YOU HAVE MIXED THE QURANIC VERSE RELATING TO SATAN WITH THE JINNS. AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE ARE GOOD JINNS AND BAD JINNS, THE GOOD JINNS ARE LIKE ONE WHO LISTENED TO OUR PROPHET"S (S.A.W) RECITATION OF HOLY QURAN AND EMBRACED ISLAM( IT IS A FAMOUS HADITH) SO IF THE JINNS ARE SATAN THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE EMBRACED ISLAM.

The literal meaning of the Arabic term ‘Shaytaan’ is one who transgresses the boundaries of Allah, or is consistently disobedient or denier of the Truth.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 112:

And so have We (Allah) always set against every Prophet enemies from among Shaitaans of men (and Shaitaans) of jinns, who inspire one another with flowery discourses by way of deception.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 114 Surah An-Naas verses 4-6:

4 From the mischief of the Whisperer (the Shayateen) who withdraws (after his whisper)

5 (The same) who whispers into the hearts of mankind

6 Among Jinns and among Men

A ‘Shaytaan’ can be one amongst the human beings or amongst the Jinns, for these two races alone have been bestowed a ‘free will’ to choose between obedience and disobedience of their Lord amongst all His creation. All those amongst the Jinns and the human beings who follow the mission of disobedience of ‘Iblees’ are all termed ‘Shaytaans’ by Allah Subhanah.

Contrary to popular belief, the ‘Shaytaan’ is not a special or specific creation of Allah Subhanah like the Angles, or Jinns, or Man; but any amongst the Jinns and humans who choose to disbelieve and disobey their Lord Creator are termed as ‘Shayateen’.

Your Question: ALLAH SAYS IN QURAN THAT HE HAS NOT CREATED HUMANS AND JINNS BUT FOR HIS WORSHIP AND BOTH AS YOU YOURSELF HAVE SAID WOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR DEEDS, THE DEEDS OF SATAN IS CONFIRMED, WHAT WOULD HE BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR?

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 51 Surah Dhariyat verse 56:

I (Allah) have not created the jinn and men except for this that they should worship Me (Alone).

Indeed the very mission for the creation of the Jinn and Humans was the worship of their Lord Creator. If one amongst the Jinn or Humans, of their own free will choose to disobey their Lord and disbelieve in His Mission; they choose to become amongst the ‘Shayateen’.

Yoru Question: THE DEEDS OF SATAN IS CONFIRMED, WHAT WOULD HE BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR?

Those amongst the Jinn and Human creation who, of their own will, chose to disbelieve and disobey their Lord Creator, and thus enrolled themselves amongst the ranks of the ‘Shayateen’ will be accountable to Allah Subhanah for their disbelief and their disobedience.

The ones amongst the Jinn and Human creation who chose, of their own free will to enroll themselves to disbelief and disobedience of their Lord Creator could very well have chosen to become obedient believers; but their arrogance, their pride, and their ignorance propelled them to disbelief….and it is this choice that some amongst the Jinn and Humans have made is what they will be held accountable for in the Presence of their Lord Creator, Allah Subhanah wa Taala.

Your Question: OUR PROPHET (S.A.W) HAS SAID THAT THE JINN COULD APPEAR IN THE FORM OF BLACK DOGS ETC.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1032 Narrated by Abu Dharr

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: ‘When any one of you stands for prayer and there is a thing before him equal to the back of the saddle that covers him and in case there is not before him (a thing) equal to the back of the saddle, his prayer would be cut off by (passing of a) donkey, a woman, and a black dog.’ I said: ‘O Abu Dharr, what feature is there in a black dog which distinguishes it from the red dog and the yellow dog?’ He (Abu Dharr) said: ‘O son of my brother, I asked the Messenger of Allah (saws) as you are asking me, and he (saws) said: “The black dog is a Shaytaan.”’

Although one hadith related by Hadrat Abu Dharr (r.a.) is found in Sahih Muslim regarding the ‘black dog’ being a Jinn; not only the majority of the good scholars doubt the authenticity of the narration, but even the likes of Hadrat Aisha (r.a.) opposed the authenticity of this narration!

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.490 Narrated by Aisha

The things which annul the prayers were mentioned before me. They said, "Prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey and a woman (if they pass in front of the praying people)." I (Aisha) said, "You have made us (i.e. women equal to) dogs??? I saw the Prophet (saws) praying while I used to lie in my bed between him and the Qibla.”

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.493 Narrated by Aisha

The things which annul prayer were mentioned before me (and those were): a dog, a donkey and a woman. I (Aisha) said, "You have compared us (women) to donkeys and dogs??? By Allah! I saw the Prophet (saws) praying while I used to lie in (my) bed between him and the Qibla. Whenever I was in need of something, I disliked to sit and trouble the Prophet (saws). So, I would slip away by the side of his feet."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.498 Narrated by Aisha

It is not good that you people have made us (women) equal to dogs and donkeys!!! No doubt I saw Allah's Messenger (saws) praying while I used to lie between him and the Qibla, and when he (saws) wanted to prostrate, he (saws) moved aside my legs and I withdrew them.’

The scholars who have accepted the authenticity of the hadith regarding the black dogs being a ‘Jinn’ because they trust the criteria of sorting hadiths of Imam Muslim say that if a Jinn did come in the form of a dog, then that dog would be treated exactly like a dog, for that dog can do no more than any normal dog would do! Neither can that dog move huge distances in a flash like the Jinn creation can, nor can that dog talk the language of the Jinns, nor can that dog do anything particular to what the Jinns can do….thus even if that narration is accepted as authentic, that dog who is a Jinn would behave exactly like any normal dog!

Your Statement: IN MY KNOWLEDGE THE GOOD JINNS ARE THE WORSHIPPERS OF ALLAH AND THE BAD JINNS ARE THE HELPERS OF SATAN

Your knowledge and your statement are absolutely accurate; just as the good human beings in the Sight of Allah are those who chose to worship and obey Him; the good Jinns are those who chose to worship and obey their Lord Creator Alone.

Those amongst the Jinns and Human creation who chose to deny, defy, reject, disbelieve, and disobey their Lord are all helpers of the mission of the chief of the Shayateen, the evil and accursed Iblees of the Jinn creation.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 15 Surah Hijr verses 30-43:

30 So the Angels prostrated themselves all of them together:

31 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves.

32 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?"

33 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man whom Thou didst create from sounding clay from mud molded into shape."

34 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected accursed.

35 And the Curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment."

36 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."

37 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee

38 Till the Day of the Time Appointed."

39 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Because Thou hast put me in the wrong I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will (strive to) put them all in the wrong

40 Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."

41 (Allah) said: "This (Way of My sincere servants) is indeed a Way that leads straight to Me.

42 For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as (choose to) put themselves in the wrong and follow thee."

43 And verily Hell is the promised abode for them all!

Your Question: BAD ONE DO POSESS HUMANS BUT NOT OFTEN, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INSTANCES WHERE PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PHENOMENAN

The Jinns are a distinct creation of Allah who have their own test of life ordained for them by Allah Subhanah, and they too will have a full accounting of their deeds on the Day of Judgment like the humans.

The system or nature of this life created by the Lord Most High is that every person is responsible for the deeds he does with his own will. If the ‘jinns’ had the power or could possess someone, then whatever that person does or says, he does not do or say with his own will but rather it would be the will of the Jinn! If a jinn could posses a human being, he could murder someone, rape someone, steal something, etc. and make the human being he has possessed do many an evil deed….and the innocent person could be held guilty in a court of law and punished for something he did not will to do!!!! The whole system of life and the test that the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord has bestowed would be in total disarray…and no ones’ life or property would be safe on this earth!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 114 Surah An-Naas verses 4-6:

4 (Say: I seek refuge in Allah ) from the mischief of the whisperer (of evil) who withdraws (after his whisper)

5 (The same) who whispers into the hearts of mankind

6 Among Jinns, and among men.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 14 Surah Ibraheem verse 22:

22 And the Shaytaan (on the Day of Judgment) will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you, but ye listened to me: then reproach not me but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrongdoers there must be a Grievous Penalty."

In light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the Quran, the absolute maximum the Jinn has the power to do is to whisper some evil into the hearts of men, and inspire man to commit some evil! They have absolutely no power to help or hurt any human being, and they absolutely do not possess the power to possess a human being.

Thus not only is the guidance of the Holy Quran against the very concept of a jinn possessing a human being, but even logically it is absolutely impossible for a jinn to possess a human being and make him do his will!

Your Statement: THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INSTANCES WHERE PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PHENOMENAN

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraf verse 27:

27 O ye children of Adam! Let not the Shaytaan seduce you in the same manner as he got your parents (Adam and Hawwa) out of the Garden stripping them of their raiment to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the ‘shayateen’ friends (only) to those without faith.

Dear and beloved brother, for anything of the ‘unseen’ (and the Jinn are definitely amongst the ‘unseen’), the believers who sincerely believe in Allah and the Last Day believe and trust with total and absolute conviction only what has been revealed by the Lord Most High in His Glorious Quran and what He made known to His Last and Final Messenger (saws).

If any relates an incident or happening of the ‘unseen’ which is not endorsed by the Quran and the Sunnah, know with absolute and total conviction that that statement or experience of theirs is no more than a figment of their imagination! And if one has to chose or determine the ‘truth’ of the ‘unseen’ between a supposed experience of one in creation and the Word of Allah Subhanah, our Lord and Creator….the believers should put their trust and belief in Allah Subhanah Alone!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 4:

4 But Allah tells (you) the Truth and He shows the (Right) Way.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 87:

87 And whose Word can be truer than Allah's?

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa verse 122:

The promise of Allah is true, and who can be truer in his Word than Allah?

My beloved brother in Islam, even if all amongst mankind were to stand together and claim that the Jinn can be seen, or a Jinn can posses a human being and make him say and do his will; and they were all to claim they themselves have witnessed this supposed phenomena of the ‘unseen’ .... and The Lord Most High Declares in His Quran that the Jinn cannot be seen by humans, nor can they possess and make humans do their will….then if you have to, stand alone on the side of Words and Guidance of Truth of Allah Subhanah; for none can be truer in His Word than Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verse 41:

41 Verily We have revealed the Book (Al-Quran) to thee in Truth for (instructing) mankind. He then that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verses 32-33:

32 Such is Allah your real Cherisher and Sustainer: apart from Truth what (remains) but error? How then are ye turned away?

33 Thus is the Word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: verily they will not believe.

Your Statement: BROTHER PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT AS AN INSULT , JUST TRY TO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH AND IF YOU GET ANY MORE PROOF PLEASE INFORM ME.

My beloved and respected brother in Islam, Allah forbid we take anything asked or said on this forum by our brothers and sisters in faith personally or as an insult; our duty is but to relate the Truth declared by the Lord and His Messenger (saws).

Beloved brother in Islam, never never ever hesitate or apologize for asking any questions in the deen; for the deen or ‘way of life’ called Al-Islam is based on the Perfect Wisdom and Knowledge of the All Knowing Lord, and every single command of the All Wise Lord is abundant in common-sense and logic. Asking any type of questions in Islam to gain more knowledge, or to confirm the Truth so that one’s heart is more content, or to understand and thus follow with more conviction the dictates of the deen is not only permissible, but absolutely encouraged in Islam. It is the right of the brother or sister to ask anything they wish to clarify in the deen; and it is the responsibility and duty of the good scholars to address the question asked to the best of their knowledge and ability, and in the most polite and humble manner.

What is indeed discouraged in Islam is if one asks questions for the sake of asking, or arguing to ridicule the Truth with absolutely no intention of obeying or following when the Truth is made clear to them, etc. But if one asks questions to clarify and seek knowledge so that one may better follow the deen; such seeking of the Knowledge of Truth is absolutely encouraged in Islam

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
