One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Dear Burhan, it is indeed a pleasure to read each & every article listed on this site. some are interesting, some are unique, some are informative and some are enlightening. all in all i can say that all muslims today needed this site to get back to the striaght path of what Islam is all about and to bow before only one Allah and none else. Now by question is simple & straight. as per my general knowledge and your sabaks.......every shirk or bidaa or evil or a wrong doing has a definate end and does not survive for long.........than please answer why has Allah let the Bohra Community and its leadership to practise what you term as shirk & bidaa to go on for centuries and centuries. why is there no end...Does this mean that there is some meaning of truth or blessing in what the Bohras believe and do in the name of Islam. please give me a straight forward reply and do not go too deep in the Quranic Verses or other Hadis as i get totally confused with them.

Answer:

Bohra prosperity

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: Now by question is simple & straight. as per my general knowledge and your sabaks.......every shirk or bidaa or evil or a wrong doing has a definate end and does not survive for long.........than please answer why has Allah let the Bohra Community and its leadership to practise what you term as shirk & bidaa to go on for centuries and centuries. why is there no end...Does this mean that there is some meaning of truth or blessing in what the Bohras believe and do in the name of Islam.

Dear Brother in Islam, it is indeed incorrect to believe that every evil and wrong must come to a definite end in this world! Allah has put the human beings to a test in the short life of this transitory world; and allowed both the good and the evil to co-exist until the end of time. The doers of good will continue to do good, and the propagators of evil will continue to propagate their evil until The Day of Judgement!

Allah Subhanah has bestowed each individual with intelligence and the faculty of reasoning, and a free will to choose between the good and the evil. That is precisely the test ordained by the Merciful for mankind.

Allah does not force anyone to do good, nor does he hold the hand of one doing evil; He, in His Divine Wisdom, has allowed each to choose the path one wishes to follow; and on the Day of Judgment He will declare the results for all to see! The time declared for the test is the life of this transitory world; and each individual is allowed to do whatever he chooses for himself! If he, with the intelligence and power or reasoning bestowed upon him, chooses to follow the Path ordained by Allah, he will pass the test and will deserve the Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah Subhanah, and a generous reward. And if one, of his own free will, chooses to follow any other path other than the one approved by Allah Subhanah, he will fail the test, and will deserve the Wrath and Anger of Allah, and a grievous punishment.

To say that just because some sects performing shirk and bida and disbelief have survived several centuries is a proof of their truthfulness, is obviously incorrect! Allah has allowed Shaitaan to work his evil since the beginning of man; but that does not prove Shaitaan is good and righteous!!!! Allah has allowed the Jews to disbelieve and commit shirk, and even kill some of Allah’s Prophets that came to them; but that does not mean that they are righteous!!!! Allah have allowed hundreds of millions of Hindus to commit manifest shirk and idol-worship for thousands of years; but that does not mean they are right!!!! Allah has allowed the Christians to claim that Prophet Jesus (a.s.) is Allah’s begotten son, and commit the most heinous crime of shirk; but that does not make them right!!!!

The criteria for good and evil is not in the longevity of the sect, tribe, cult, or group! The criteria for being right and wrong is in the Guidance of Allah Subhanah. If one follows the Guidance revealed by Allah Subhanah, he is on the right path; and if one follows any other guidance or path other than the Guidance of Allah, he is definitely and positively astray!

Allah says in Chapter 2, Surah Baqarah aayat 185:"Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a perfect guidance for mankind and consists of CLEAR teachings which show the Right Way and are a Criterion of the Truth and falsehood."

A Criterion is something that differentiates between two things; and Allah Subhanah has declared His Quran the Criterion between Truth and falsehood. Truth is the path shown by the Quran, and falsehood is any path, other than the one shown by the Quran!

The ones who use this Divine Criterion to form their judgment of Truth and falsehood are guided aright; and the ones who use any other barometer like time, population, wealth, color, language, etc. will never ever be able to determine the Truth from the falsehood.

Your Statement: please give me a straight forward reply and do not go too deep in the Quranic Verses or other Hadis as i get totally confused with them.

Beloved brother in Islam, we have tried to give as straight forward a reply as we possibly can; and we do apologize for inserting the one aayah from the Quran as evidence for our belief. The aayah is so powerful and so perfectly fits into our discussion, that we could find no better words to describe the situation than the very Words of the Merciful.

Allah Subhanah is a witness, that the Quran was not revealed to confuse mankind; but rather it was revealed to take mankind out of confusion and darkness, and bring them into the light of knowledge and guidance! Beloved brother, read the Holy Quran with understanding from cover to cover even only once, and it will wipe away all the confusion that our ardent enemy, the Shaitaan creates in the minds of man! It is in the nature of Shaitaan to whisper doubts and confusion into the hearts of mankind, and lead them away from the Path of Truth. Only the ones upon whom Allah has had Mercy, and bestowed upon them His Guidance, can recognize these evil plots of Shaitaan and how to abstain from them! If the Merciful had not had Mercy upon mankind, and had not sent His Guidance, not even one human being could have escaped the evil clutches and designs of the accursed enemy of Allah and of mankind; the Shaitaan!

If the Revelations of the Quran and the authentic narration of the Messenger of Allah (saws) that we have given as evidence, have confused you; brother, the blame is on us, for the short-coming is in our writings and our explanations, not in the Divine Guidance! May Allah Subhanah have mercy upon us, guide us, forgive us our short-comings, and save all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire. Ameen.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
