In reply to the question 4641 about whether the Holy Prophet (pboh) is alive or not

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalamo Alaikum

In reply to the question 4641 about whether the Holy Prophet (pboh) is alive or not, part of your reply is as below, which I find myself to be in agreement with and perfectly logical. However, I wonder if you can please enlighten us further as to how these can be applied (or not, as the case may be) to Jesus Christ, whom many believe to be alive in the heavens? Looking forward to a speedy reply,

Wassalam

Answer:

Is Jesus Alive

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: However, I wonder if you can please enlighten us further as to how these can be applied (or not, as the case may be) to Jesus Christ, whom many believe to be alive in the heavens?

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verses 157-158:

157 That they (the Jews) said (in boast) "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"; but they killed him not nor crucified him but so it was made to appear to them; and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no (certain) knowledge but only conjecture to follow; for of a surety they killed him not!

158 Nay Allah raised him (Jesus son of Mary (a.s.)) up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power Wise.

In light of the above absolutely clear Verses of the Glorious Quran, Allah Subhanah Himself Declares that neither did the Jews kill nor crucify the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) son of Maryam , but Allah Subhanah raised him up unto Himself.

In what exact state did the Lord Most High raise the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) unto Himself, or what is the exact status of the soul of the Noble Prophet Isa (a.s.) at this time in the Presence of Allah, etc. are things of the unknown which is known to none save Allah Subhanah Alone.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verses 116-118:

116 And behold! Allah will say "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men `worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah"? He (Jesus) will say: "Glory to Thee! Never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing Thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou Knowest what is in my heart though I know not what is in Thine. For Thou Knowest in full all that is hidden.”

117 "Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst Command me to say: ‘to Worship Allah my Lord and your Lord'; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up, Thou Alone wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a Witness to all things.”

118 "If Thou dost punish them they are Thy servants: if Thou dost forgive them Thou art the Exalted the Wise.”

In light of the above clear guidance of the Holy Quran it is absolutely evident that in whatever state the Lord Most High has Willed to raise and keep Prophet Isa (a.s.) unto Himself, the Noble Prophet Isa ibn Maryan (a.s.) has absolutely no knowledge of what happened or is happening in the world after he was raised unto the Lord…..but it is Allah Subhanah Alone Who is a Witness and a Watcher over all things.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
