Answer:
Hafiz and Beard
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question:
please give your advice whether i should let my beard grow or keep it nice n
trimmed..
Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (saws) said:,
"Whoever has hair should honor it." (Related by Abu Dawud.)
Said 'Ata ibn
Yasar, "A man came to the Prophet (saws) with unkempt hair and an untidy
beard. The Prophet (saws) pointed to him, as if ordering him to straighten his
hair and beard. He did so and returned. Thereupon the Prophet (saws) observed,
'Is that not better than one of you coming with his hair unkempt, as if he were
an evil-one?"' (Related by Malik.)
Dear and Beloved Brother, it is a preferred Sunnah that a
believer should keep his beard nice, neat, and if need be, trim it for tidiness
and balance.
Your Question: I
have read that a hafiz or a muslim who trims or shaves his beard is not
permitted to conduct prayers
There is absolutely nothing in the Shariah that states
that one who leads or conducts prayers cannot trim or shave his beard. The having of a beard or its length has
absolutely no bearing on one’s ability to lead or conduct prayers!
Your Question: it is
a criminal act for ahafiz to trim or shave his beard.
Every law that applies to a believer in Islam, also
applies to one who has been honored by their Lord to memorize the Glorious
Quran.
It is a Sunnah, preferable, and absolutely desirable that
a believer who adorns a beard must honor it by keeping it need and tidy, and if
need be, trim it for tidiness and balance.
If one trusts,
obeys, and follows the guidance
and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being
misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger
(saws), one can be assured of being led
astray.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in
Islam,
Burhan
