Answer:

Masturbation big or small sin

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Although the evil act of masturbation is not listed amongst the grave sins in Islam, the scholars in Islam are almost unanimous in their opinion that if one persists in committing even a small sin repetitively, it would be considered a grave sin in Islam.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 120:

120 Eschew all sin open or secret: those who earn sin will get due recompense for their "earnings."

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imraan verse 135-136:

Allah likes such good people very much, who, if ever they commit a base deed or wrong their own soul by the commission of a sin, remember Allah instantly, and ask for forgiveness from Him for their shortcomings. For who, but Allah, can forgive sins? (And Allah loves those) who do not knowingly persist in the wrongs they did. These will be rewarded with forgiveness from Allah, and with Gardens beneath which canals flow, and they will reside therein forever! How excellent is the reward of those who do good deeds!

Dear and Beloved Brother, in these trying times where one is constantly bombarded with indecency and ‘fahisha’ wherever one goes, or whatever one sees, or reads…it gives the accursed enemy of mankind, the Shaytaan, the opportunity to inspire man to transgress the boundaries of Allah Subhanah.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 200-202:

200 If a suggestion from the Shaytaan assail thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He Hears and Knows (all things).

201 Those who fear Allah when a thought of evil from the Shaytaan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance when, lo! they see (aright)!

202 But their brethren (the evil ones) plunge them deeper into error, and never relax (their efforts).

The only thing that can prevent man from sin and transgressing the boundaries of Allah Subhanah is the fear of standing in His Majestic and Supreme Court on that Inevitable Day of Judgment to answer for all the deeds one did. If one can only remember and bring to mind the enormity and gravity of that Tumultuous Day everytime one intends to commit a sin, one would strive to abstain from ever transgressing the boundaries of the Supreme Lord.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 79 Surah Naziaat verses 35-41:

35 The Day when Man shall remember (all) that he strove for

36 And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see

37 Then for such as had transgressed all bounds

38 And had preferred the life of this world

39 The Abode will be Hell-Fire;

40 And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal). and had restrained (their) soul from Lower Desires

41 Their abode will be the Garden.

We beg and implore our Merciful Lord to forgive you and us all our innumerable sins we committed in our ignorance, implore Him to have mercy on all His believing slaves, and bestow on all of us the cultivation of that consciousness of standing in His Awsome and Majestic Presence on that Inevitable Day. Ameen.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumur verses 53-54:

(O Prophet) say (to the believers of Allah): “O My servants who have wronged their own souls….Do not despair of Allah’s Mercy! Surely, Allah forgives all sins. He indeed is the All Forgiving, All Merciful. Return to your Lord and submit to Him before the scourge overtakes you; for then you may get no help from anywhere.”

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
