Answer:

Why non muslims cannot enter kaaba?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

May Allah Subhanah reward you with the best of this world and the Hereafter for your kind comments of encouragement for our humble efforts in the propagation of the Truth. If our humble and modest efforts have helped even one brother or sister get closer to Allah and His Deen of Truth, then we would consider ourselves indeed fortunate to have been given this opportunity by the Lord Most Merciful to serve in His Cause. We hope, beg, and pray the Merciful Lord accepts our humble and weak efforts, forgives us our shortcomings, and saves you, us, and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire. Ameen.

Your Question: A non muslim questioned my brother "if mulims r allowed by our community to enter a guruduwara or even holy place then why dont musims allow non muslims to enter the city of Makkah mukarramah.

Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, a non-muslim is more than welcome and should indeed be encouraged by the believers to visit any of the tens of millions of mosques or Islamic Guidance Centers worldwide; but it is the precise and specific command of Allah Subhanah that no idolator should be allowed in the precinct of the Sacred Mosque in Makkah.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 28: O ye who believe! Truly the idolators are unclean; so let them not after this year of theirs approach the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah). And if ye fear poverty soon will Allah enrich you if He Wills out of His Bounty, for Allah is All-Knowing All-Wise.

The wisdom behind the command being that the Sacred House of Allah has been made absolutely sacrosanct and purified from the spiritual impurity and disease of ‘shirk’. Before the Victory of Makkah granted by Allah Subhanah to the believers under the leadership of Prophet Mohamed (saws), the Sacred House was under the control of the pagan Quraish, and they violated its sanctity by placing and invoking and worshipping the images of their false gods in its Sacred Precincts. Allah Subhanah, amongst His Innumerable and Infinite Mercies towards the Ummah of Prophet Mohamed (saws) Willed and Implemented that the Sanctity of this Centre of Islam in Makkah should, till the end of time, be honored and never ever should it be violated by the abomination of ‘shirk’. Thus Allah Subhanah commanded that no idolator should even be allowed to visit its Sacred Precincts, so that the abomination of ‘shirk’ be kept far away from this Inviolable House till the end of time.

If one simply takes a look at what happened during the recent ‘SARS’ disease and epidemic in the world, one would understand the issue in a better light. Most of the nations of the worlds banned and absolutely prohibited anyone who was effected, or was in contact with someone with the contagious disease of SARS, to enter their country! The reason being that they wanted to safeguard their populations from the germs of this extremely contagious disease!

Just as the well-wishing governments recognized and thus banned the entry of the people carrying this physical disease from entering its regions, the All-Knowing, All-Wise Lord, as a Mercy to the Muslim Ummah, demanded and commanded that this Sacred and Inviolable House be forever purified from ever being visited by anyone who had the spiritual disease of the abomination of ‘shirk’!

Besides this Sacred House is the Centre of Islam, and if ever (Allah forbid) ‘shirk’ were to start here again, chances are that it would be used as an example by the evil ones to spread it amongst the believers! Thus, in His Sublime and Infinite Mercy towards the Ummah of Prophet Mohamed (saws), Allah Subhanah commanded that the believers honor the Sanctity of this Inviolable House and allow no one effected with the germs of the abomination of ‘shirk’ to ever even visit its Holy and Sacred Precincts. Only those who declared themselves purified of this grave spiritual disease of ‘shirk’ would be allowed access to visit this Inviolable Mosque of Allah Subhanah in Makkah Mukarramah!

But other than this One Inviolable Mosque in Makkah, the non-muslims have the liberty, and indeed should be encouraged by the believers to visit any of the tens of millions of mosques worldwide without any restriction whatsoever.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
