I have a personal question. I was sodomized when I was 9 by a muslim teacher. I want to make sure that this man does not get away.

Please advise me what I should do and can do.

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. Dear and Beloved Brother in Islam, you have not made known to us how long ago this event took place; but if it happened a long time ago, it would indeed be very difficult to prove your case in a Court of Law, for basically it would be your word against his.

But if this event happened in the recent past, or if you feel that the person might practice his evil upon some other innocent child; then it indeed becomes your duty to bring the man to justice and thus prevent him from hurting an innocent soul.

But if the event happened a long time ago, and the man is not a threat to righteous society any longer; and your only intention is to take revenge for his evil deeds; then the trauma and the exercise related with bringing the man to justice would not be worth it in this short and transitory life of this world! Unless the person himself confesses in a Court of Law, it would be practically impossible to convict such a person without any eye-witnesses!

Dear and Beloved Brother, if the event happened a long time ago, it would be best to leave it in the past and keep your trust in the Supreme Justice of the All-Mighty, All-Just Lord. The All-Knowing Lord is well aware of the condition of each of His slaves, and no man who has wronged another will be able to avert justice or save himself from the consequences of his deeds in the Supreme and Just Court of the Lord All-Mighty. Rest assured that the doer of this ghastly and heinous crime will not get away with his evil in the Presence of the Lord All-Mighty; and you will be sufficiently compensated on a Day when The Lord Himself will take revenge from the doers of evil.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
