How would shaitaan be punished?

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salam Brother Burhan.

I asked you this question few months back but failed to get the reply. My question is how would Allah Subhanah punish Satan on the Day of Judgement ? I mean how would Satan feel the torment of the hell fire when he himself is created out of flames ?

waiting for your reply.

Answer:

How would shaitaan be punished?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Q-1: My question is how would Allah Subhanah punish Satan on the Day of Judgement ?

The intolerable punishment promised to Shaitaan and those who follow him, is the unending, unbearable and unendurable Fire of Hell!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 38 Surah Saad verses

75 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with My hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?"

76 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: Thou createdst me from fire, and him Thou createdst from clay."

77 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected accursed.

78 "And My Curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgement."

79 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."

80 (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee

81 Till the day of the Time Appointed."

82 (Iblis) said: "Then by Thy power I will put them all in the wrong

83 "Except Thy servants amongst them sincere and purified (by Thy grace)."

84 (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting, and I say what is just and fitting:

85 "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee (Iblis) and those that follow thee--every one."

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 16-18:

16 He (Iblis)said: "because Thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on Thy straight way.

17 "Then will I assault them from before them, and behind them, from their right, and their left: nor wilt Thou find in most of them gratitude (for Thy mercies).

18 (Allah) said: "Get out from this disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee (Iblis), Hell will I fill with you all.”

Q-2: I mean how would Satan feel the torment of the hell fire when he himself is created out of flames?

Iblis is amongst the Jinns, and Allah Subhanah indeed created the Jinns from flames of fire. Regardless of what Jinn and (men) are created from, the Fire of Hell will engulf the evildoers in intolerable and unending punishment.

To imagine that how fire would hurt someone made from fire; one only has to throw a hardened piece of clay at a human being, who was created out of clay, to see what effect a simple lump of clay has on the human skin and bones! Or even imagine if a mountain of clay is dumped on a human being! It would be more than enough to crush his bones!

The ferocity and temperatures of the Hell Fire is a thing of the ‘unseen’ and unimaginable to the human mind! When Allah Subhanah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the creator of Paradise and Hell Fire, informs us that He will punish the ‘shayateen’ amongst the men and jinn in the eternal Fire of Hell; the believers must take His Word for it!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
