Prophet change shariah

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

If is say that prphet can come but can not change the Shariat, will it be right?

(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer:

Prophet change shariah

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The statement that ‘a prophet can come but cannot change the Shariah’ would not be correct; the key word being ‘can’!

It is a condition of being a muslim to believe that the Last Messenger and Prophet of Allah Subhanah until the end of time is Prophet Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws), and no new Prophet or Shariah can or will come to this earth after him.

But it would be correct to state that in the ages before the appointment of the Last Messenger of Allah, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws), many a Prophet would come to mankind and follow the exact same Shariah or Law of the Prophets before them.

Not all the Prophets who came in the days gone by, came with a new Shariah. Most of the Prophets of Allah Subhanah who are mentioned in the Quran came to confirm the exact same Message and Shariah of the Prophets who came before them. For example Prophet Haroon (a.s.), Prophet Dawood (a.s.), Prophet Sulaimaan (a.s.), Prophet Zakariah (a.s.), Prophet Yahya (a.s.), etc. did not come with a new Shariah or Law, nor did they change the existing Shariah of the times; but they all followed the exact same Shariah or Law that was revealed to Prophet Musa (a.s.).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
