Quran Taweedh Amulet dua for job . What is wrong with Quran verses on Taweez

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
assalmualiakum, brother am in a confuesed state. my parents has sais problems to one ameel.and that person has gave one taweez(amulet) and tasbeeh some quranic verse to read that tasbeeh for 21days and to keep taweex until i get job. but after goin this forum i realised it as shirk. but still confused. my oarents are forcing me to read dat tasbeeh and to wear taweez. dey are saying it is quranic verses nothing wrong in wearing that and reciting tasbeeh. plese answe as soon as posible
