Tawakul and Human faculty

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Assalaamu alaikkum dear brother Burhan ,
May almighty Allah pour HIS blessings upon you and your family.
Dear brother my question is regarding Tawakkul .
1 )  Why we do Tawakkul ?, its directly proportional to the efforts we are taking. For example , going for an exam , the non muslim ,ofcourse believes in his human faculty and/or demy GOD to study and write exams and pass [most of the non muslims reaches all top positions in exams or in career in that way ], the same way a muslim must do Tawakkaltu ala Allah . As a muslim , he gets marks based on the preparation done by his human faculty , ie how hard he prepared for exams. Then whats the need of Tawakkul.
Suppose both studied in the same way and writes exam , what is the additional benefit a muslim get ?
When  we ask for help from someone , that person helps us and make our things happen soon. But when we do Tawakkul , the result may be postponed or giving a toiling situation to compete in addition to a burden. So ultimately , Tawakkul , makes harder in addition to thorough study . Most of the high competing exams like IAS,IIT , the toppest and majority 99% are non muslims and they prepared by not believing Allah and believed in themselves, their human faculties. So whats point of doing Tawakkul? If we do tawakkul , then also we must strive like anything.
Whether , as a muslim , do good deeds or bad deeds , love or hate parents  etc never going to affect his prewritten Qadr.If he does lots of charity or any other good deed , he must strive like anything for those exams like IAS and complete responsibility comes on his shoulders. Then where is the help ?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Brother in simple words, tawakkul is faith. If you are looking for instant results, then to a great extent you are right, the muslims and no-muslims will only get grades for what they worked for. Here tawakkul will not work. Tawakkul does not mean that you do not prepare for your exams, it means you prepare sincerely just like anybody else, then leave everything including the results to Allah swt.. That is faith and tawakkul.

A believer should not worry after preparing and giving his exams. He trusts Allah swt in the sense that he will get blessings in whatever happens after the results. He will be content without scooping to use illegal means to snatch others rights. The contentment comes from his belief in his Rabb.

It is possible that the non-believers will be more successful in this world. The believers are content to play the game fairly within the boundaries of shariah. They seek the higher rewards for their patience and righteousness in the hereafter. They know with conviction that this life is but a test which they can only pass by the guidance from the Quran.

The godless grade their success from what they have in this world. The believers who possess taqwa grade their success from what good deeds they have accumulated for the hereafter. Only a believer will trust in the unseen and in the promise of his Rabb. The rest cannot even comprehend this phenomena to their ultimate dilemma on the Day of Judgement.

A believer does not mind striving through odds in this transitory life because he is content in his belief that he will be well rewarded in his eternal life. To understand this one has to first put his full trust (tawakkul) in Allah swt and then only will he be able to taste the sweetness of faith.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
