ANSWER:

Do you believe in Zulm done on Hadrat Fatema (r.a.) and Hadrat Hasan and Husain (r.a.)?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and who-ever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The ‘deen’ of Islam, its rites of worship, its practices, its implementation, the haraam, the halaal, etc. everything were declared by Allah and His Messenger (saws). The ‘deen’ of Islam was completely revealed before the death of the Messenger of Allah (saws). After his (saws) death, nothing could be added to the ‘deen’, nor anything could be taken out.

Whatever happened after the death of the Messenger of Allah (saws), is the History of Muslims. If anyone did any act of ‘zulm’, Allah is a witness to that act, and He will reward or punish every individual on the Day of Resurrection.

There is not a believer who does not love Hadrat Fatema (r.a.) the beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allah (saws), and her family. The Messenger of Allah (saws) was himself a witness to their love of Allah and His Messenger, their love for Islam, their unlimited sacrifice in the Cause of Allah, and their pious character. There are several authentic narrations of the Messenger of Allah (saws), whereby he has praised Hadrat Fatema (r.a.) and gave her the good news that she was to be the chief of the believing woman in Paradise! And in one narration, the Messenger of Allah (saws) said that Imam Hasan (r.a.) and Imam Hussain (r.a.) were to be the chiefs of the youth in Paradise. This is the honor bestowed upon these noble people by the Messenger of Allah (saws) himself. May Allah be pleased with them all.

What happened to Imam Hussain (r.a.) and his family on the fields of Karbala, is indeed one of the darkest pages in the History of the Muslims. The believers are unanimous that ‘zulm’ was indeed done on the beloved grandchild of the Messenger of Allah, and his family. May Allah reward the martyrs of Karbala with His Mercy and Forgiveness and give them an honorable place in Paradise, and may Allah take full retribution from the tyrants who did the ‘zulm’ on these pious slaves of Allah.

Allah says extremely clearly in Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 134: They were a people who passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned, and you shall have the reward of what you will earn. And you will not be questioned as to what they did.

The above aayah is one of the ‘usools’ in Islam. Allah says in the Holy Quran that the people who have passed away shall receive a reward of what they earned, and we shall have the reward according to our deeds. And we will not be questioned as to what they did!

Thus whatever ‘zulm’ was done on any of the pious slaves of Allah, Allah will Judge the ‘zaalims’ and tyrants who did the tyranny. We will not be asked by Allah about the ‘zulm’ done on these pious slaves of Allah!

Some unscrupulous people and leaders used these incidents of Islam, added a lot of incidents from their own imagination, and used the names of these pious slaves of Allah for their own gains. The ‘majaalees of matam’ that we see today was started many years after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (r.a.). Some unscrupulous people used the Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (r.a.) and his family in Karbala, to give fiery speeches to further their political and monetary aims! Today in the name of Imam Ali, Hadrat Fatema, Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (r.a.) they have organized a huge power base and business; they gather people, organize the food, they pay the ‘speakers’ to give fiery and glowing speeches, and pay the singers of ‘maraseeyahs’: all in the name of ‘ibaadah’ and Islam!!

And these unscrupulous leaders have been successful in breaking up the one ‘ummah’ or community of Islam into various sects, each with its own set of beliefs and narratives. They have been successful in taking a small percentage of muslims and brain-washed them into worshipping and invoking Personalities in Islam, rather than invoking the One and Only Allah.

Just look at the Anger and Wrath of Allah described on those who break up their religion into sects:

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 23 Surah Mu’minoon verse 52-54: And you all belong to one and the same ummah, and I (Allah) am your Lord; so fear Me Alone! Yet afterwards the people divided themselves into different sects, and each sect rejoicing in what it has. Well, leave them deeply involved in their heedlessness up to an appointed time.

We are commanded by Allah in the Quran to worship Allah Alone and obey and follow His Messenger Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws). That is Islam!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 31-32: O Prophet, tell the people, “If you sincerely love Allah, follow me. Then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for He is All Forgiving, All Merciful.” Also say to them, “Obey Allah and His Messenger.” And if, in spite of this, they do not accept your invitation, warn them that Allah does not love those, who refuse to obey Him and His Messenger.

We love the noble companions and the family of the Messenger of Allah (saws), because they sincerely loved Allah and followed the Messenger of Allah (saws). Allah is our witness, we love all of them, including Hadrat Ali, Hadrat Fatema, Imam Hassan, and Imam Hussain (r.a.). We love them Yes! We invoke or worship them – No! Allah Alone deserves our invocation and our worship.

One cannot use the ‘zulm’ done on these pious slaves of Allah, and in their love and remembrance, create a ‘deen’ of their own! One cannot use the name of their ‘zulm’ and make tombs and shrines over their graves! One cannot use their ‘zulm’ and start invoking and worshipping them in their graves! The ‘zulm’ that was done on these pious slaves does not change the ‘deen’ of Islam.

Allah's Messenger (saws) said to Hadrat Ali (r.a.): "You have a resemblance to Jesus, whom the Jews hated so much that they slandered his mother, and whom the Christians loved so much that they placed him in a position not rightly his." Hadrat Ali used to say later, "Two people will perish on my account, one who loves me so excessively that he praises me for what I do not possess, and one who hates me so much that he will be impelled by his hatred to slander me."

Islam revolves around Allah and the guidance of the words of Allah in the Quran, and the Sunnah or practice of the Last Messenger of Allah (saws); and not on the ‘zulm’ done on the pious slaves of Allah!

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

May Allah guide you and us all to the Siraat al-Mustaqeem

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
