How many times should one perform ablution?
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalamu Alaikum Brother, Its very embarrasing to ask such question but then its very important to know the answer as it is an important criteria for Prayers Actually I have a Gas problem so I have to do Wudu multiple times while offering Prayers Thoug I have read from the archives that One should go as per conviction and not on doubt, but in My case I m very sure about it...so now How may times should I perform Wudu, is there any limit for it.Also I m in office which makes me all the more difficult to do Wudu all the time. Awaiting for Your Reply JAZAK ALLAH KHAIR

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sister you are only required to do wudu just before the salat. Till that time you will have to hold the gas. Its only a matter of ten minutes or so. There is absolutely no other way. If you pass wind during salat then you must cease praying immediately, re-do your wudu and start again and complete your salah.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
